Students and staff at Bernita Hughes Elementary recently celebrated the joy of reading during their annual Read-A-Thon. Throughout the week, students participated in fun dress-up days and welcomed several celebrity guest readers who shared their favorite stories with classrooms.
The event created excitement around books and encouraged students to spend extra time reading both at school and at home. Activities like the Read-A-Thon are a great way to make reading and learning fun while building a lifelong love of books.
We were honored to welcome several celebrity readers, including Clint Branham with Rural Electric Cooperative, Melanie Earl with the Grand River Dam Authority, as well as Mr. Abbott, Coach Bradbury, Cowboy Short, Carol Troyer, and Craig Day with News On 6. Their time and enthusiasm helped make reading even more exciting for our students.
